Between Stars
This image is part of a series called Between Stars. The series is inspired by stars’ alluring brilliance, which hides – and is created by – the turmoil within these entities. For me, it’s a phenomenon that holds parallels with how our wounds, or the sometimes-unruly thoughts and emotions that linger in our subconscious, can lead us to beauty or light.
This print is approx. A4 sized (21 x 29.7 cm or 8 x 11 inches) and full colour.
It is printed on archival paper.

Ng Hui Hsien is an artist, writer, and educator. Her art practice primarily uses photography and installation as mediums to explore themes such as perception, (im)materiality and interconnectivity; they are sites where the unconscious can find expression.
Hui Hsien’s work has been internationally exhibited in institutions and festivals. She graduated from the University of West of England (UWE) with a MA in Photography (Distinction) and National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Master in Social Science (Sociology).
