Some of us are looking for the most distant ancestor of whom we know, others, on the other hand, are trying to dialogue with the one who still hurts because of her passage to another plane of existence. It has been an intense, painful, mysterious journey, full of dreams and revelations, which we could not do otherwise than accompanied and at our own pace. This is the story of our families, travels, migration, roots, and magic that can be narrated from the population of our territory to now.

Morena is a documentary photographer and freelance photojournalist, based in Guatemala City, Central America. She's mestiza of indigenous Mam origins, with more than 10 years' experience in photojournalism and documentary work. She works on issues related to indigenous movements, territorial defense, the environment, migration and feminism.
She's a member of the RUDA Colectiva (2018), a group of Latin American feminities working around photography and image, brought together by the need to reflect and discuss the place of narratives and visual representations in the current production of photography in Latin America. It is currently formed by members from different countries.
